WE’RE DEALING WITH THE LEADING COMPANY IN THE WORLD. THIS PUTS US CLOSE TO THEM AND IT’S A VERY UNIQUE

OPPORTUNITY FOR A COMPANY OF OUR SIZE TO GROW. - Trey Meador, President and CEO of Manchester Sling

For Mammoet there are distinct advantages to having Manchester’s testing space just outside their office doors. “Teir cost savings is that they don’t have to truck

everything to us in Houston,” says Meador. “We can certify all their gear right there.” While the partnership is clearly beneficial to Mammoet, Meador wasn’t sure that it was in Manchester Sling’s best interest. As always, he was cautious, but he was eventually convinced. “I needed to know what are our logistics going to

be? We didn’t procure that bed only for Mammoet,” says Meador. “How will we be able to service other clients? If we’re making wire rope in Houston that has to be tested, do we have to truck it down there? All the logistics came into question: commuting, hiring, overhead, all of it.” As they sat down to build an agreement point-by-point, Meador was eventually satisfied that the partnership was a mutually beneficial one that would only accelerate his plans to grow Manchester Sling. “We’re dealing with the leading company in the world. Tis puts us close to them and it’s a very unique opportunity for a company of our size to grow,” says Meador. “Tis contractually binds us to them and guarantees us that business. We’re also able to market

to other clients in that area a lot more effectively and we’re sure that the growth in Rosharon will offset any of the short term costs.” In addition to testing, the new building in the

Mammoet space will be a stocking facility that will allow Manchester to modernize their process, adding new equipment and separating their production spaces. “Our wire rope fabrication won’t be blended with our synthetic sling production anymore,” explains Meador, citing that wire rope production will remain in Houston while all synthetic sling production will move to Rosharon. Meador describes the new equipment that their new facility will house, including a new 2000-ton swager, two new presses and a LK40 cutting machine all built by Talurit to go with the AV65 annealing machine purchased last year, and two additional test beds on the way by Chant. What this boils down to for Manchester is a more

productive platform moving forward. “We’ll be more efficient and more modern in a way that’s safer and will also allow us to grow. We plan to go into 2014 with some big momentum.” Te new Manchester Sling facility is slated for a grand opening in September. y
