DOUBLE R RANCH M O U N D S , O K
2013-2014 RSNC RULE CHANGES
• The 2013/14 National Finals will become a qualification event with the exception of new members.
• In support of all RSNC producers and members who support the association all year long, RSNC is initiating a 5 show qualification to compete for the phenomenal cash and prize give away at next year’s National Finals. All current members who compete in a minimum of 5 RSNC sanctioned events, between the 2013 and 2014 National Finals, will have qualified to compete at the 2014 RSNC National Finals. Additionally, all new members who join during the 2013/14 season and who have not competed at 5 events will be eligible to compete for 20% less than any advertised payback at the 2014 RSNC National Finals.
• Beginning with the 2013/14 season the World Series of Ranch Sorting qualification and awards program has been discontinued. Beginning with the 2013/14 season, the State Extravaganza will serve as the qualification and awards program for the 2014 National Finals. Rules for the State Extravaganza can be found on the RSNC website under National Points Race.
• RSNC will continue to serve it’s producers and members in any way possible to award them for their commitment and participation within the Association. The above rule changes have been made based on a majority vote of RSNC producers.
HAD FUN, NO SUN. - What did we do for entertainment before Zac? His unexpected back flip off his horse after a good run kept us all in stitches. Kevin Speer provided entertainment also, but not the kind we like. He took home a souvenir shiner and broken rib after a broken rein and a collision with the fence. Hope you’re feeling better, Kevin.
The two days of 40-degree weather with north winds at 20 mph made for a tough weekend of sorting, but 442 teams were up to the challenge. We were blessed to have sorters from six states with the long distance award going to Rob Hanshaw and Phil Nichols from Arizona. We sure enjoyed them!
We revived an old sorting class called the 3 Man Sort (one arena). IT WAS A HOOT with mass confusion of the good kind. We will be doing it again at future shows. And, a special thank you to our daughter, Laura, and granddaughter, Natalie, for taking such good care of the concessions. They make us proud! Overall it was a good show with a lot of good people, food and FUN! We appreciate all of you.
