News brief... World festival


INSIDE: The World Festival of Interiors will take place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore for a three-day festival in October 2013. This festival provides the international design and architecture community with a larger, more vibrant platform for creative thought, inspiration, and ideas making it one of the most important three-day events for the 2013 calendar.


International design awards opens


This year sees the third edition of the SBID International Design Awards. With a new website, new judges and new categories, this year’s Awards are expected to surpass previous editions. As ever, the awards serve to recognise, reward and celebrate design


excellence not only from super luxury projects but also innovative design and new talent on limited budgets.


A new design and lifestyle concept space


Maurizio Pellizzoni, Director of interior design practice MPD London has launched the MPD Studio in London’s exclusive Chelsea design district. The launch marks the extraordinary rise of MPD London on the luxury design scene after reaching multi-award winning status in 2012 where MPD took home awards for residential design categories at the International Design & Architecture Awards and the Society of British Interior Design Awards.

The internationally acclaimed European Hotel Design Awards 2013 is now open for entries. Currently in its 16th year, the scheme is widely acknowledged as the leading pan-European awards to focus

The Awards are part of Sleep, which is the stand-out event for the hotel design industry, comprising two days packed with a hotel design and development talk’s programme, major exhibition, and a showcase of built hotel concepts.
