487 A match ball from the Wales v Australia international played at Cardiff 20th December 1975 signed by both teams, a brown leather Gilbert Match ball presented as a gift to a 12 year old ball from Port Talbot who was fighting cancer at the time, the lot including a related booklet on this matter, signatures including Williams, Evans, Gravell, Bevan, Price, Wheel, captain Mervyn Davies, Faulkner etc., Australia including Hipwell (captain), Graham, Pearse, Cornelsen etc. £500 - 700


489 A rugby ball signed by the Wales squad prior to the Grand Slam match v Ireland at the Millennium Stadium 19th March 2005, the black and white Gilbert all weather trainer ball signed in black marker pen by 23 members of the Wales squad, Jenkins, Morgan, Jones, Henson, Owen, Peel, Davies etc., in a custom made perspex display case together with a cased commemorative Grand Slam medal and a match programme for the Ireland game, 30 by 40 by 40cm., 12 by 15 1/2 by 15 1/2in. £250 - 350


486 A rugby ball signed by the 1974 British Lions to South Africa, a brown leather Gilbert ‘Springbok’ neatly signed by the squad in two columns numbered 1-15 & 16-30, additionally signed by the tour manager Alun Thomas and coach Syd Millar, and inscribed in heavy print BRITISH LIONS, 1974; sold with a signed letter of provenance from the present vendor which explains its acquisition through Ian McLauchlan, the Scottish rugby captain (2)
