379 1981 FIA F1 documents issued to Nelson Piquet & Hector Rebaque in South America,


comprising Nelson Piquet’s GRADUATED CLASS ‘A’ - FISA International Competitors Licence, an Affidavit of Driver Status and a Medical Form bearing his signature and medical details, all stamped NELSON PIQUET SOUTO MAIOR and as issued by the Confederacao Brazileira de Automobilisimo; Hector Rebaque’s International Drivers Licence stamped with his name and bearing a b&w newsprint portrait, plus two International Medical Forms, one stamped 1981, the other 1980 (altered by hand to read 1981) and HECTOR ALONSO-REBAQUE JR, each one issued by the Asociacion Mexicana Automovilistica; together with Ricardo Zunino’s 1979 laminated ‘Servicio de Hemoterapia’ medical card completed by a Buenos Aires doctor (8)


In September 1979 Niki Lauda unexpectedly walked away from Brabham and Grand Prix racing during practice in Canada. As Argentinean Ricardo Zunino was spectating, he was able to join Nelson Piquet in the team, having luckily tested for them earlier in the year. For a F1 novice he performed well enough to be kept on for the following year, but when he failed to qualify for Monaco, he was replaced by Mexican Hector Rebaque. Meanwhile Brazilian Piquet went from strength to strength and took two Drivers World Championships at Brabham in 1981 and 1983. £60 - 80

380 1986 Brabham-BMW BT55 Formula 1 nosecone & front wing, the fibre-glass nose mounted with a two- part wing complete with ailerons and aluminium endplates, including cockpit and rear-view mirror fairings, Pirelli and Olivetti sponsors logos, all finished with dark blue and white gel coat, the nosecone bearing Brabham and BMW manufacturers badges, Emporio Armani logo, plus driver Ricardo Patrese’s number 7, also Brabham factory identification X55.6 T-CAR 26, approx. dimensions: width 148cm., 58in., length 146cm., 57in., height 30cm., 12in., evidence of slight ‘shunt’ damage


The ‘low-line’ BT55 was Gordon Murray’s last design for Brabham before he joined McLaren.


The item here is thought to have been purchased at a later charity auction, which might explain the presence of the small Bridgestone decals. £300 - 500


382 1992 Footwork-Arrows F1 car rear-view mirror and brake cooling duct,


a lightweight left-hand drivers’ cockpit mirror, the white shell with blue ‘taka-Q’ sponsor’s decal, on a short metal strut with ball-joint, discarded after stone damage to the glass, 5 by 10 by 8cm. long, 2 by 4 by 3in.; plus a conical carbon-fibre main inlet brake duct, held on a square aluminium display plate with a small Arrows Racing Limited decal, diameter 12cm., 5in., both items used on FA13 chassis (2)


Obtained directly from the team that finished equal 7th in the 1992 Constructors Championship, with Michele Alboreto and Aguri Suzuki driving its Alan Jenkins-designed FA13 chassis with Mugen-Honda V10 engine. £60 - 80


381 1991 Benetton Formula 1 team member’s jacket, a ‘bomber’ design with press-stud fasteners on blue fabric, yellow leather collar, sleeves and trimming to slit side- pockets, Camel Benetton Formula 1, Ford F1, Autopolis and Mobil embroidered logos, the back featuring a full-width embroidered side view of Nelson Piquet aboard a Benetton B190B beneath a large Camel logo, Benetton Formula 1 Racing Team label, the initials ME added in marker pen to the back of the care label, black quilted lining, size L, good condition, worn £150 - 200
