Another advantage of webinar technology as a digital enabler is that it can be delivered to a variety of locations, including overseas, and on the move. Tony adds: “You have the scope and flexibility to deliver training content to teams of people in staff meetings and increasingly to remote workers via their smart phones and tablets. However, you should never underestimate the challenges of getting people to consume digital media, and the solution is to use a combination of online and offline material, and face to face events and meetings, which will always be a core element of any business training.”

She says: “Yes, webinars can be a great way to increase sales and drive traffic, and we offer a variety of free webinars to our members with a list of great experts on topics that are highly popular in today’s digital marketing world. The only downside I see is that it often reduces the need to meet with people face to face. Personally I love delivering my training sessions and workshops face to face so I can meet and engage more fully with people. However, realistically I know this is not always possible and the upside of running the workshop as a webinar is that more people from much far afield are able to attend.”
