Blue Lotus Spa An Elegant, Zen-Inspired Retreat

by Lee Walker K

ay Williams, a licensed massage and skin care

therapist, knows how to spa. The owner of Blue Lotus Spa, in the heart of Olde Naples, has been in the busi- ness of helping people

to improve their health with massage therapy and skin care for more than 30 years. “I believe that not only should a day spa be relaxing, but seriously dedi- cated to providing healing rituals that customize the individual’s needs and comfort for both optimum experience and results,” says Williams, who opened the Therapeutic Massage Clinic, the first with eight large treatment rooms, and later, Kay’s Face to Face, both in Naples. She also was responsible for creating the massage concession at the Port Royal Club and other exclusive, private facili- ties. “We have seven massage therapists at Blue Lotus that are experienced in numerous different modalities. They are very conscious of not only the treatment, but the temperature of the rooms and tables and the complete comfort of the client,” she says.

“Blue Lotus’ esthetic treatments are all about healthy skin, guidance on the latest in skin care maintenance and corrective treatments for women, gentle- men and ’tweens and teens,” Williams continues. “We specialize in Dermalog- ica Signature Facials [deep pore cleans- ings], chemical peels—both microderm- abrasion and dermaplaning—LED Photo Rejuvenation, and Micro-current Facial Body Sculpting. Other accompaniments include waxing services and eyelash and eyebrow tinting.”

The spa’s therapeutic modalities encompass everything from hot stone and Swedish massage to deep thera- peutic massage, Trigger Point Therapy, myofascial release, assisted stretching, reflexology, foot detox treatments

and ear candling. “Massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regi- men. Additionally, the incredible benefits of massage are powerful if taken in regular doses,” notes Williams. “Mas-

sage is a much better preventive than cure, and much more than a luxury—it’s a vital part of self-care that has a positive ripple effect on us as we work, play and care for others,” she advises.

With its elegant Indonesian décor, Blue Lotus is an oasis of serenity, set in the center of Naples’ charming historic gallery district—an upscale hub of res- taurants and shopping. Guests can also enjoy secluded access from the rear of the building, which has ample parking.
