Botanical Garden Debuts New Youth Program

Botanical Garden’s program- ming to inform and en-


tertain youth is expanding. In addition to its W.O.N.D.E.R. (walk-observe- navigate-draw-explore-read) Kids’ Edible Gardening sessions at 10:30 a.m. each Saturday and Sunday at Smith Children’s Garden, a new Wee W.O.N.D.E.R. once-a-month program for children ages 3 to 5 will debut at 10 a.m., November 13, with a Spud Bud- dies look at all things potatoes. Each Wee class is 45 to 60 minutes long and offers a fun, hands-on way for young children to explore plants and the natural world while developing an understanding and appreciation for na- ture, including interactive explorations, nature walks and stories for children and their caregivers.


Other November events include Tai Chi in the Garden, with instructor Karen Atkin, at 10 a.m. each Thurs- day; and a Master Gardener’s Plant Clinic, hosted by expert Mike Malloy, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., November 1 and 8.
