Looe members toast successful campaign
Unfortunately, the last race of Looe Sailing Club’s campaign fell casualty to the weather.
This time it was due to too much wind, meaning it became the 14th race of the season to be cancelled – the most for many a year, and most of them due to a lack of wind.
However, the last-race supper in the clubhouse was very well attended and brought the curtain down on a campaign that saw improved numbers in each of the four fleets – Enterprises, Lasers Mirrors and Redwings.
The evening commenced with the presentation of all the monthly cups and ‘most wins’ trophies by Commodore Sue Dunn.
Recipients of the ‘most wins’ accolades were as follows:
Enterprises: David and Chris Jackman (15 wins).
Lasers: Richard Vasey (26).
Mirrors – juniors: Callum Johns and Josh Blewett (15).
Redwings: Peter Kinver and Joe Palfrey (15).
