FINANCIAL REVIEW 2011-12 Philanthropy: Vital to our Mission

PHILANTHROPY PROVIDES ESSENTIAL SUPPORT for the operating budget as well as for the school’s long-term vision. OES relies on the continued generosity of donors to help accomplish our mission of preparing students to realize their power for good as citizens of local and world communities:

² ²Annual giving supports the programs of the school today.

²²Capital gifts help develop campus facilities and program resources.

²²Gifts to the endowment provide stable funding for the future.

ENDOWMENT ASSETS BENEFIT OES. Endowment income funds department chairs, financial aid, and curricular initiatives at the heart of our excellence. Ongoing support of the endowment from alumnae/i, parents, and friends will ensure the long-term financial health of the school.

STEADY, LONG-TERM GROWTH of the endowment and stable enrollment have helped OES continue to fund outstanding programs without compromise. The OES endowment has rebounded from the declines in 2008 and 2009 and stood at $20.9 million at the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2012. OES opened the 2011-12 school year with enrollment of 844 students. Enrollment for 2012-13 is 851.
