Santa Rosa, CA. ~ I cant think of a more positive oppor- tunity for students who attend the SRJC Culinary Arts pro- gram. Front House Operations Director Betsy Fischer invited me to meet these wonderful, happy and enthusiastic stu- dents to talk to them about their experience working with the Culinary Career Center's Event Assistance Service Program.

Imagine having time to talk

to guests during the holidays or any time of the year while trained and educated students prepare foods for your guests. You can hire these students and they can help you as service staff from buffets to advanced services such as weddings and a lot more, all for around $15 dollars per hour per student. All clients have to do is go to the programs website and tell them what the event is about, what they plan to serve

Anne Bazerman says that it is

It's a 'com- plete service ' because they come and help set everything up and when they are done, they also clean up the entire kitchen areas where the food was prepared as well as the areas where all the people were entertained. Edie burns tell me about one particular event she helped with in Sebastopol, an Irish Party and really had a great time preparing tradition- al soups and grilled cheese sandwiches while listening to great music. It was the first time in many years the host could actually visit with all her friends and family. Betsy Fischer encapsulates
