in future, too. For one thing, food is making a comeback – a nod to the club’s founder, restaurateur Peter Evans, the man who brought steakhouses to London. And the Raffles membership card will start to open doors in other locations all around Chelsea. “We’re such a well-established brand within this area, we thought: ‘Why don’t we team up with some of the other establishments within Chelsea and offer a wider array of products than just Raffles?’ By being a member, if you come to Bluebird, you’ll get looked after, at the Brompton Bar and Grill you get looked after. Harry’s, for example, he has a different option for Raffles members – things like that. It’s really trying to cover lots of different aspects of someone’s lifestyle.”


There are also new international trips for Raffle-ites


– that’s the spirit of Sir Stamford again – which will see a members-only summer trip, a winter trip and a secret party, which the club will let people know about a week before it happens.


The next winter trip is destined for the ski-party resort of Val d’Isère, where five luxury chalets have been booked to recreate the party atmosphere of the King’s Road in the French Alps. “We’re taking our DJ down, our director of music and a lot of the team from here to have a week-long ski party,” says Sachin.
