For sun seekers, including WestJet Vacation and Thomas Cook customers, beginning October 29 through to the end of April, WestJet offers plenty of scheduling options including direct seasonal service from YLW to Las Vegas, Phoenix and Cancun, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. In addition, charter flights to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are offered out of YLW by Transat Holidays from December 18 to the end of March and by
Sunwing.ca to Los Cabos from November 1 to the end of March. All three of these companies offer a wide range of accommodation choices through their destination partners.
“Ninety percent of our clients are looking to book winter vacations, most between Christmas and spring break,” says Allayne Clark, owner of Banks Travel in Penticton. “We’re seeing more south Okanagan residents who used to book a flight south out of Vancouver now travelling out of Kelowna - there is a greater choice of flight times than in the past, and often it costs less than travelling to Vancouver and incurring an overnight stay which is sometimes necessary if your flight leaves early in the morning.”
