SIT BACK, RELAX, AND ENJOY THE RIDE: Taking transit to and from YLW BY KELLY PENNER

Kelowna International Airport’s (YLW) main terminal, you will find many options to take you in and around Kelowna. Shuttle buses, taxis, limousines and car rentals are all within an arm’s reach of the airport’s main terminal, but there is another option. Kelowna Regional Transit offers a convenient, environmentally friendly and affordable form of transportation, with a single fare ticket costing just $2.25 for adults.

MODERN AND SUSTAINABLE SHELTERS Transit shelters are conveniently located just a short distance outside the main terminal on Airport Way. Follow the signs along the paved walkway to the newly installed shelters complete with solar-powered LED lights for comfort and safety. Inside the shelters you will

hether you are travelling for business or pleasure, once you are outside

find comfortable seating and a transit route map and schedule to guide your way.

PLANNING YOUR RIDE You are not sure how to get where you’re going? Stop by the automated transportation kiosk by the exit doors in arrivals and use the Google transit trip planner. Simply type in your destination for step-by-step instructions on which bus you need, what time to catch it and how long it will take to get there. Or use Google Transit on your smart phone – visit BCTransit.com under Kelowna Trip Planning.

TICKETS, FARES & SCHEDULES Pick-up a copy of the rider’s guide at the Tourism Kelowna information booth in arrivals for a complete listing of transit schedules. Don’t have exact change for bus fare; head to the Skyway Newsstand mid terminal to purchase your bus tickets using debit or credit.

Local employees can save even more money by using BC Transit’s ProPASS program. If three or more people at your organization purchase a monthly

bus pass, you can pay for your pass at a discounted rate through automatic payroll deductions. Visit www.bctransit.com to learn more.

RELAXING, STRESS-FREE TRAVEL Sit back and relax on the friendly buses and enjoy seeing Kelowna through a ride on public transit. If you’re trying to bring a trip in on budget, getting to and from YLW for the price of a bus ticket will be your best bet for an inexpensive, environmentally conscious way to get around.

Kelowna International Airport is the Okanagan’s largest airport, connecting you on 62 daily non-stop flights to over 375 destinations worldwide.
