Reshaped novel called Beethoven’s Assassins. Initiated plans for co-authored articles with Simon J. James (English), and with physicists Martin S. Banks (IAS Fellow) and Gordon Love (Durham).
Andrew Pickering
Participated in several seminars and lectures. Established contact with numerous Durham colleagues across different disciplines.
Barbara Adam Wrote book chapter on ‘The Future in Social Theory.’ Strengthened existing links with several Durham academics, whilst also establishing new link with Max Paddison (Music).
Barry Dainton Wrote and completed several papers and book chapters. Research conversations with Jonathan Lowe (Philosophy), who is contributing chapter to The Continuum Companion to Analytic Philosophy, edited by Barry Dainton.
Geographical Futures
Special issue of the IAS postgraduate journal, Kaleidoscope, to publish papers selected from the 70 conference presentations.
Experiencing the Future Workshop fed into ongoing work of a variety of contributors, including a project on ‘Emotional Experience in Depression’ led by Matthew Ratcliffe (Philosophy). Conference organiser, Simon J. James (English), stimulated to develop book on memory in Charles Dickens.
Literary Dynamics of Place: Crossing, Setting, Circulation 60 delegates attended, including postgraduates, academics and members of the public.
