Tickets are now available for preview night at the Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, to be held at the Castle from October 10 to 13. The event, says organiser CAMRA, will offer the widest choice of draught cask-conditioned beers in the world, the aim being to present a record-breaking 1,000-plus different real ales and more than 200 different ciders. While the festival is generally a non-ticket
affair, tickets are essential for the first ever preview night, on the evening of Wednesday 10th, and are advised for guaranteeing admission at peak times like Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Tickets can be obtained on

said: “Since relocating to Nottingham Castle a few years ago the festival has become a highlight in the social calendar of the city. “Last year’s event was the most successful yet and we intend to do even better this year, including being the first ever beer festival to feature more than 1,000 different casks of real ale – they said it wasn’t possible but we aim to prove them wrong!”
Leading Nottingham restaurant MemSaab, advancing the cause of pairing wine with spicy food, is hosting a dinner with tastings on July 5 (7pm) at £30 per person.
