Tell us a little about what makes Jamie Happy? What do I enjoy? I know many people
say this, but truly I love meeting people. It’s in my blood being an entertainer my whole life, I love the interactions and I sincerely care about the people I meet. How long have TGirl Nights been around?
I The inception of TGirl Nights began Tuesday March 9, 2009 What motivated you to create the nights?

Our events by design were intended to be a social gathering...a safe, fun, casual night. For example, at Hamburger Marys’, Long Beach had k aoke on karaoke on Tuesdays, so we kept that segment of the evening in place. It allows people to talk and is a great opportu- nity for me to go out and meet everyone who comes in to the club. Then at 11:30 p.m., we switch over to dance party and the place goes wild!
With our expansion into monthly Saturday Night
events, we raised the level of energy, producing a powerful dance party along with Transsexual Danc- ers performing on stage. A Red Carpet Photo Area adds a touch of class and has become one of our signature features. TGirl Tuesdays are a wonderful weeknight club night, TGirl Saturdays are amazing events! Are the nights strictly TGirl and admirers or can everyone join in the fun? I feel we have a model that could be the way of
the future for transgender club events. Hamburger Marys’ reputation is one of being all inclusive and at the Long Beach location, we get a solid mix of our

transgender community, our “admirers” and most im- portantly, a strong following of the local gay/lesbian community. We have the most diverse promotion at the club and it’s a winning combination! Are there plans to expand TGirl Nights to other venues? I am always looking for ways to expand our promo-
tions to other areas, it just needs to be the right “fit” for our community. Do you think the TGirl community has become more visible in the past few years? Yes, most definitely our transgender community
has reached more and more into the mainstream. Jen- na Talackova (Miss Universe Contestant), Chaz Bono have brought visibility and hopefully a larger level of acceptance. At the regional level, the past three years I’ve been running effective mainstream print media ad campaigns and web campaigns to give “straight” and “curious” people opportunities to experience our community and have a great time as well.
What fun Theme parties/events do you have coming up? We have themed club events about once a quarter
and Saturday, August 4th will be the return of “Jungle Love” Last year it was a HUGE success and is certainly one of our hottest themes! Any other thoughts for our readers? I’d just like to say thank you to all my friends, staff,
and supporters who have helped create some of the most memorable times of my life. I am proud of what we do, who we touch, and how we produce events with style and class. It’s all amazing and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
