RUNNING HIGHS ...

A BIG running highlight to date would be becoming a UKA Run Leader and setting up Cale Green Runners in Stockport. We are a small club that is aimed at beginners who would like to take part in a 5 or 10k; or generally want to run to improve their fitness.

A.M. OR P.M. RUNNER

I’M MAINLY AN evening runner, simply because I work full time and go out once my son has gone to bed. Saying that, I’ve been getting into the routine recently of running in the mornings at the weekend, usually before my son wakes up!

RUNNING HERO ... SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR RUNS ...

MOSTLY I LIKE the sound of silence so I can enjoy the surroundings. Although, if I am running 7 miles or more, I tend to take my iPod, just in case I need the extra motivation. I did start training with music, but found out a lot of events don’t allow you to, so now I don’t rely on it as much.

RACING HIGHS ...

I RECENTLY ran the Bupa Great Manchester Run as the Powerade 75 minute pace marker. It was a great experience; I came in at 75:12 and the runners that ran with me came in before I did! It is a great feeling to know that you have helped people reach a goal.

TOO MANY TO mention. Of them all, I’m still harbouring hopes of one day running with Haile Gebrselassie (right) or Jessica Ennis. You never know...

THE CHARITY I SUPPORT ...

I LIKE TO do whatever I can in terms of fundraising. In the Chester Marathon, I’m running for

Adoption UK and PDSA, both of which are close to my heart.

MY RUNNING AMBITION ... ON A PERSONAL level, Chester marathon in October will be my first so I can’t wait for that milestone. I’m really hoping to expand Cale Green Runners and get as many people involved in running as possible. My ultimate ambition, though, is to run New York marathon, but I think this is going to be a few years yet...
