four schools and was due to at- tend the Bearsted Fair. Adam said he enjoyed work-
ing with young people and hoped to get involvedwith the youth club, but he was also conscious that there were a number of elderly and vulner- able people in the district who also needed his assistance.
A PLAQUE to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was unveiled by local artist Suzanne Norfolk during the celebrations. Suzanne, who moved to the village in 2006, was commis- sioned to create the zinc-etched plaque, which will give tourists and residents a taste of the vil- lage history. Suzanne studied fine art at Backhouse School of Art, Sun- derland University, in the 80s. Her work extends from pastels to oils and portraits to land- scapes, and is held in private collections throughout the UK. Swift Roofing and HDH Building supplied and built the plinth for the plaque to sit on. Parish council chairman Richard Ash thanked Fabienne Hughes for her hard work in or- ganising the plaque and intro- ducing Suzanne to the project. “It is a wonderful creation which will last forever,” he said. The council is to consider ap- plying Smart Water forensic coding to the plaque and the re- stored village sign as a crime prevention measure.
