THE

REINDEER CHAMPIONS BRITISH

With six months under their belt, the Reindeer Pub & Kitchen are hatching more plans for yet another ‘foodie’ event to take place on the 3rd June – Reindeer-Next-The-Sea. The team is absolutely delighted with how things have been going so far and part of their success could be attributed to the food events held at any given opportunity. All are based on what our great British Isles have in season at the time and are rooted in an ethos of sourcing suppliers from all over the UK, whether they are local foragers or small holdings in Dorset that have taken to curing venison. The first of the events was held back in March and was a celebration of British oysters at their peak. The weekend itself was a huge success, “We had no idea just how many people were crazy about oysters” said bar manager Scott McBride. Next up was the ‘Nose to Tail’ barbeque, which was the outcome of a blossoming relationship with Swannington Farm to Fork. They work closely with the Reindeer team to ensure that very little of the animals they use actually go to waste. In line with their mission to deliver modern British food without frills or pretense the next event looks set to do just that. With fish and shellfish coming into their own in early summer the idea will be to celebrate the wonderful seafood that is quite literally on our doorstep. You will find the ‘fish shack’ open for business on Sunday 3rd June from 4pm-8pm (serving Sunday roasts 12pm-3pm) as part of the bank holiday celebrations.

THE 4TH NORWICH BODY ART FESTIVAL

As if three years of unbridled visual stimulation and inspiration wasn’t enough – which it sure as hell ain’t – the now infamous Norwich Body Art Festival returns for a 4th year to its regular home of St Andrew’s Hall, on the 18th and 19th August this year. The festival, organised by Outline and Indigo Tattoo Studio has become synonymous with bringing the cream of British - and beyond – tattoo artists, last year seeing top names from the UK, America and even Curacao! This year promises even more artists with a magic one hundred plus artists in our sights. It wouldn’t carry all the magic of the Body Art Festival if there wasn’t a ten-tonne truck load of entertainment planned, and a wealth of trade stalls booked for your enjoyment. Keep an eye on the finer details on our Facebook page, or on the website, www.norwichbodyartfestival.co.uk, where tickets are now on sale.
