QPR named as preferred bidder for London sports ground
Queens Park Rangers Football Club (QPR) has been named as Ealing Council’s preferred bid- der to take on the lease of the publicly-owned Warren Farm sports ground in Southall. Te Premier League club is proposing to develop the site as its new training ground,

Tokyo, Madrid and Istanbul chase 2020 Olympic Games
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has shortlisted three locations - Tokyo, Japan; Istanbul, Turkey; and Madrid, Spain - to host the summer Olympic Games in 2020. Two other cities - Doha (Qatar) and Baku (Azerbaijan) - were also among the five applicant cities, but lost out in the race to be named candidate cities follow- ing a technical assessment. Football Foundation grant for Lincolnshire scheme
Welton-by-Lincoln Parish Council has received a Football Foundation grant worth more than £250,000 towards new commu- nity facilities in Welton, Lincolnshire. Te scheme represents a total invest-

FT Leisure secures two UK leisure centre contracts
Swimming pool engineering specialist FT Leisure has been appointed to work on new the leisure centre developments at Kings Cross in London and Holt Park, Leeds. Te group will work on swimming pool
facilities at both schemes, with the Kings Cross centre to include a 25m, four-lane pool with a counter current swim unit. Holt Park will include a 25m pool, a
