ArcelorMittal Orbit unveiled in London
ArcelorMittal Orbit, the sculpture and visitor attraction designed by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, has been unveiled at the heart of the new Olympic Park in east London. Te 114.5m (375.7ſt) tower has been devel-
oped at a cost of £22.7m and is located between the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre. During and aſter the 2012 London Games,
the new ArcelorMittal Orbit is to be operated as a ticketed visitor attraction offering views overlooking the capital and beyond. Visitors will be transported to the top in a
liſt and will be able to return in the same man- ner, although the use of the 455-step staircase ‘orbiting’ the tower will be encouraged.
