It’s back! And you won’t want to miss it
The “Great Race” is returning to Ottawa
June 26-27! It’s an amazing event that hasn’t happened here since Canada Day, 1995, when it
won the hearts of classic, vintage and antique automobile fans. The Great Race is a competition based on precision driving and navigational skills using vintage automobiles. Participants drive in different
classes from Grand Championship Division, Expert Division, Sportsmen Division, X Cup Teams and Rookie Class. The events are timed, controlled-
speed endurance rallies − not top- speed races. Each vehicle must follow a prescribed common route while attempting to maintain assigned average speeds. Vehicle entries must be
manufactured in 1969 or earlier. A Hot Rod or Muscle Car would not be eligible. Because of power train,

Times are in hours, minutes, and seconds. There will be 90 cars participating
in the race starting June 23 in Traverse City, Michigan, and ending July 1 in Dearborn, Michigan. The cars arrive in Ottawa from
Barry’s Bay June 26 at 3:30 pm and then on to the Hazeldean Mall where they will be on display from 4 pm to 8 pm. The race continues the
next morning, June 27, when the cars leave for Kingston, Ontario. Having seen many of these cars
the last time they were here, I can tell you it will be well worth the trip to see these amazing cars at the Hazeldean Mall. Sponsorships are available
