Music benefits children
“Music isn’t a gift or a talent, but a language that can be learned by anyone capable of attention, awareness and memory.” Music classes can introduce the child to the language of music and make a significant contribution to other areas of learning, such as language development as children expand their vocabulary when words are reinforced by simple actions. Music builds self esteem, builds maths skills, reinforcing the sequence of numbers, by number songs and counting games. Action songs and movement also contribute to small and gross motor control. Make sure you find a class with a qualified teacher who understands child and musical development - all children have the capacity to be musical if exposed to musical opportunities.
