Scabiosa ‘Butterfly Blue’, always a favourite.

Pilotus exaltatus ‘Joey’. Pilotus exaltatus ‘Joey’. Drought tolerant, love heat and will be a standout in any

garden. Pilotus is a short lived perennial in Australia but well worth growing as an annual here. About 15 inches to two feet tall. Scabiosa ‘Buttefly Blue’ never fails to delight. This “see-through” perennial

makes a graceful addition to the garden in June and July and attracts butteflies and bees. Likes sun. Somewhat tender but worth growing even as an annual and you might just get lucky! Verbena ‘Denim Blue’ is a very pretty light blue verbena. The edges of its petals

are slightly darker highlighting the pale blue colour. Full trailer. Vinca ‘Angel Tutu’ (Catharanthus). A hybrid vinca, bred in Japan, with ruffled, overlapping petals, it likes high heat and humidity. Pale pink, fading to rose at the outer edges of petals. Compact and mounded, it shows well in a smaller planter.

Poppy Magic Poppy Magic Papaver paeoniflorum. You guessed it. Another dou-

ble, but this time pink and the seeds of this perennial poppy can be used in cooking. Double California poppies ‘Wrinkled Rose’. Is

there anything that hasn’t been doubled? Pretty golden pink and yellow California poppies with a pleated blos- som now come semi double.

Pleated poppy! ‘Wrinkled Rose’. Who can resist it? Papaver paeoniflorum. ‘Angel Tutu’, a distinctive new vinca with a ruffled petal. Verbena ‘Denim Blue’. The blues have it, always.
