Completed TV Complex
programme in the nation’s history and the first to feature simultaneous coverage from multiple locations. While more detailed studies are required, at first glance it appears their new, clear signal is reaching more than 90% of the nation.
The shell of the original broadcasting house built in 1954 still stands, but after complete renovation its new interior is an attractive state of-the-art facility, housing radio and television studios equipped with the latest technology for production and broadcasting. It offers a healthier, safer and much more attractive work environment for the staff.
After the official sign-on, viewers became aware they were being offered a wide variety of programming and information that included a high percentage of newly created FBC programs dealing with matters of local interest. During a month on air FBC TV has enjoyed enthusiastic public reaction.
(AIBD Broadcaster) Myanmar Forever Group Begins Media Training
Myanmar’s first private broadcast media training centre, established by Forever Group to produce professionals for the growing broadcast media sector, launched its inaugural course last week. It offers four courses – “Taste of TV”, “Basic editing training for assistant editors”, “Intensive production training” and “Camera training” – and the first began on January 16. The centre is closely linked with the Forever Group channel MRTV-4, established in 2004. Foreign journalists from organisations such as Deutsche Welle of Germany will contribute to the programme. Forever Group plans to upgrade the centre to college level and offer multimedia courses to meet the human resource needs of the wider industry. The centre also provides specialised training for the MRTV-4 staff. The training centre is not- for-profit and all revenue will be reinvested in the college. Forever Group operates MRTV-4 as a joint venture with the Ministry of Information and also runs the Mandalay FM radio station.

With an e-mail exchange, MediaCorp Technologies clinched the project deal for coverage planning for a new FM station in Myanmar. The consultancy work included drafting of technical specifications for the transmitters and antennae as well as consultation on the selection of equipment. Another area of consultancy was for the set up of the production and broadcast studios for the new FM station.
New Studio
MediaCorp Technologies went on to provide project management services for the installation of the transmitters and antennae in four regions – Bago, Moulmein, Pyay and Taungoo. This was made possible with MediaCorp Technologies’ many years of broadcast experience and strong links with System Integrators.
The Myanmar customer subsequently awarded MediaCorp Technologies a tender for the building of a TV complex in their country.
MediaCorp Technologies provided project management services for the outfitting of the TV complex in Myanmar which included equipment installation, training and commissioning. Within a year, a full range of broadcast facilities were made available, including the master control room, news studio and satellite earth station.
