from Newly Elected TAMPA MAYOR Bob Buckhorn
Have you ever seen someone who was following his passion and having a blast doing it? Recently I had the opportunity to watch newly elected Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn give a speech at the Centre Club about the outlook he had for the City of Tampa. He was a man on a mission, selling a vision for Tampa’s future! What most might find interesting is that when the Tampa Mayoral Election of 2011 was occurring, there were very few people who thought Bob Buckhorn had a shot.
He had recently run twice for office and lost. He had a quarter of the budget of the other candidates and a really small staff that he personally managed. He was also going up against three undefeated candidates who had huge entrenched bases! As business owners, we can learn a great deal from Bob Buckhorn’s tenacity and drive. As someone who was helping run the Social Media campaign in one of the other camps I can tell you firsthand how Bob did it.
