Phara McLachlan attributes much of her success to her mother, a wonderful role model and mentor. Carolle owned numerous businesses, encouraging her daughter at eight years old to be involved in the daily comings and goings at the family newspaper business. The young McLachlan was eager to learn and was drawn to the potential she saw in technology. She created an asset management database to track revenues, costs and expenses, not even knowing at the time what it was called or that it would become instrumental in determining her future career. In contrast to technology, McLachlan was well-rounded and equally gifted with creative talents in painting and poetry. A USF graduate, she began working with a dot com company to gain experience, but knowing there was more, she reached out to a small consulting firm that she had followed since college. Picking up immediately on her sense of purpose to help others and make a difference, they hired her immediately. This position required her to travel worldwide, expanding her level of expertise in many areas. She excelled in the areas of IT and software asset management, business process improvement, systems integration, and technology advisory. Ready to move to the next level, she became an independent consultant and soon attracted and signed on two major clients.

With her inherent all-in attitude, McLachlan identified another opportunity to better serve. She knew that to be the best asset she could be for her clients, she needed to be more personally involved and look at the entire business versus just a specific problem that was identified. She often looked at different scenarios such as, “Is this technology problem really solved by implementing a new system, or is it a training issue?” Perhaps the answer involved leveraging the client’s current systems and resources and not continuing to invest in new programs. “I wanted a company that was all about being completely honest, having high integrity and knowing that you are there to do what’s right for the company, to be a true advocate for a client’s organization and business objectives and goals. It’s not only about the financial gain, and that’s why I decided to start Animus Solutions.”

Animus is centered on “value add” and thrives on giving its best effort every day. They believe their success depends on your success. Time spent with the Animus corporate team is in a word – refreshing. McLachlan and her carefully chosen team really love what they do. The business philosophy at Animus

is simple: to give their best and exceed client expectations every day.

What does McLachlan love most about her business? “Having a client that says they have a unique challenge and no one has been able to help them.” That type of challenge is just what drives McLachlan and the Animus team to put on their boxing gloves and battle for their clients until they have conquered the challenge, come in under budget, ahead of deadline and have exceeded expectations. Some examples of these successes include: reducing a client’s TCO substantially by 30%, assisting a client with the transformation of their IT and HR departments, and working with another client to save over $500,000 in out-of-compliance penalties. The Animus team continually looks for the value add in every task they are asked to complete. “What else can we discover or address that will reduce cost, migrate risk, enable sustainable growth, which the client does not know about? That’s how we approach each client engagement and that is what keeps our clients coming to us and seeing us as a strategic partner.”

McLachlan’s team of impassioned experts in their fields delivers considerable insights with a “failure is not an option” policy. They work hard to be the partner that has your back so you can focus on how to grow your business, versus having to focus on how to manage the internal workings of your business. The Animus team has a proven formula for getting different departments in your business talking to each other about challenges and processes that are resulting in the business not reaching its potential. Solving these problems and resolving conflicts are what they find most satisfying, and they enjoy building bridges over interoffice-related issues, creating smooth sailing ahead.

Serving both private and public sectors and headquartered in Tampa since 2004, Animus Solutions is a vendor-agnostic management and technology consulting firm that commits to furthering your success. They help organizations solve the toughest enterprise issues and aid them in reaching their peak performance through the most innovative techniques, processes and technology. It’s all about helping companies reduce costs and manage risks while enhancing growth and revenues by optimizing their people, technology and business operations. Ultimately, the expert Animus Solutions team helps your business integrate permanent efficiency by
