Highlights for 2011
TIG maintains its strong reputation as a platform for knowledge transfer across the titanium industry, with regular meetings in which members discuss the latest in technology and market opportunities
This year has seen meetings hosted by JRI, TWI and Sandvik Coromont, exploring a broad spectrum of themes including medical devices, machining of titanium, joining and coatings. Members continue to benefit from the opportunity to engage in discussions across the titanium industry, improving their awareness of the latest in technology that is directly relevant to their areas of expertise and cross-fertilisation with wider areas of the industry.

TWI takes full advantage of its TIG membership, and regularly
attends the meetings throughout the year. One of the main benefits is the networking with titanium producers, fabricators and users to gain an insight into the direction the industry is heading. TWI is heavily involved in the organisation of the European Titanium Conference and the first event in 2009 proved to be a fantastic success with great opportunities for the TIG membership. The second conference in 2012 looks like it will follow suit, and we are looking forward to being part of it.
