This year has seen some changes in the TIG Council. Leaving the council in 2011 were Nigel Hoskinson (ATI Allvac) and Alan Partridge (formerly NAMTEC), who has been replaced by Alan McLelland as the Chairman of the Council. Xinhua Wu of Birmingham University stood down from the council and has been replaced by Michael Loretto. David Munasinghe has taken Felix-Martin Hapke’s place representing ThyssenKrupp in the UK.

and that Honorary Member David Harvey of Eclipse Welding Metallurgy has renewed his participation in the Council. Keith Birmingham, formerly of VBC Group, has maintained his participation in the TIG council following a move to Wall Colmonoy. In recognition of outstanding contribution to the Titanium Information Group, Michael Loretto has been appointed as an Honorary Member.


We were very sorry to hear that TIG Honorary Member John Fowler (formerly of Rolls- Royce) passed away in December 2011.
