Maidstone Borough Council 5 Maidstone Museum…a new East Wing era
Fund-raising
boost Fund-raising efforts for the museum’s east wing have been given a huge boost.
The Maidstone Museums’ Foundation received a pledge of £75,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation, which came with the condition that it had to be match funded with another £75,000.
Two months later and the pledge was matched with another £75,000 from The Monument Trust, which is one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts.
The grants, totalling £150,000, make a significant contribution towards the project, but there is still some way to go to reach the fundraising target and the public can get involved in two simple and easy ways to donate to the Maidstone Museums’ Foundation (MMF). You can:
· Make a donation by texting MUSE14 followed by either £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
· Donate online using the Virgin Money Giving website which can be accessed via
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/museum-3 or by visiting the Museum website at
www.museum.maidstone.gov.uk where there is a donate button linking you to the site.
