Year 9 Ambassadors participating in the leadership course

On Wednesday 23rd November, the Year 9 Ambassadors participated in a leadership course with various other schools. The conference was hosted by Hampstead School in North London. The aim of the course was to supply us with the skills we needed to be successful leaders and have a positive role in our society.

A representative from Unicef spoke to us about how we as young people could make a difference in our community and in the future. We took part in exercises which enabled us to have a greater understanding of how we could improve our community and create positive infl uences.

The purpose of the course was to have a ‘Big Idea’ that we could then take back to school and ‘put into action’. The “idea” had to be about helping others less fortunate than ourselves. With the information we got from the course, we were able to devise a plan that we would then hopefully be able to take back to Grey Coat and share with everyone else.

On behalf of all the ambassadors we would like to thank Miss Shaw for organising the wonderful trip and giving us a fantastic opportunity. We would also like to thank Hampstead School for hosting the event and welcoming us warmly into their school. The course was brilliant, and the day could not have been any better.
