Grey Coat Issue 19: January 2012 The last day of term

Widespread rejoicing was the keynote on Friday 16th December as students and staff - conscious of the myriad achievements of a long and busy term - indulged in the festive exchange of cards and gifts. A wet walk to St Margaret’s sharpened appreciation of hearing traditional readings from the King James Version of the Bible and the “so bitter yet so sweet” singing of familiar carols. Finally there came the uproarious welcome for the staff pantomime where pupils demonstrated their ability to memorise Usher’s Without You. Whilst the show might not have earned a 5-star review from Michael Billington, it was thoroughly enjoyed by the student audience for which it was designed.
