for outdoor enthusiasts. Skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross- country skiing, and snowshoeing are just a few of the winter pastimes here. For those who prefer an extra dose of adrenaline with their skiing, there are companies in town that offer hell-skiing adventures. Excellent cross-country ski trails abound all throughout the area including vast networks at Barnes Creek, Wensley Creek, and on the Upper Brouse Road. Te Resident Ghost Town: Te

town of Sandon was once the capital

of the Silvery Slocan. Plunked down amid forests and mountains, this ghost town is located eight km east of New Denver. Exploring the remnants today, its hard to imagine that some 5,000 people lived here during the height of the mining boom in 1892. Look around and try to visualize the 29 hotels, 28 saloons, two township newspapers, a flourishing opera house, gambling halls and brothels and many more establishments once existed here.

Tukaluk Campground Get back to nature at this rustic camping and RV park on Fauquier Creek. Tukaluk is centrally located and bears a short five minute walk to the golf course, restaurant and general store. Spend ten minutes travelling by foot to enjoy the tranquillity of a private sandy beach.
