When Canadian or American RV’ers think about Mexico as an option for their next winter RV trip, they will certainly dream of a great adventure in an exotic country with impressive pyramids, beautiful colonial towns, mariachis, tequila, friendly people and warm sunny days on wonderful tropical beaches. In fact, this is what Mexico is - a paradise for Snowbirds ! But then, while dreaming, some questions and concerns may pop-up in the RVers’ minds:
• How am I going to communicate with people who speak only Spanish? • How can I ensure my space in RV Parks? • What is going to happen if suddenly I have a break-down in the middle of the road?
Evidently, a quick answer to these questions is: Join an RV caravan, then just relax and enjoy, while expert staff take care of the planning, the reservations, the sightseeing tours and any assistance that may be needed during the trip.
Fortunately for RV’ers from North America, there are numerous reputable caravan companies and RV clubs that organize circuits to all corners of Mexico, including: Baja California, Copper Canyon, Colonial Mexico, Pacific Coasts and the Yucatan Route - a wide variety of choices that can make dreams come true!! Some good news for RV travelers in Mexico, is that they
may also count on “the angels” to help them in case of break-down or an emergency. Tey are the ‘Green Angels’ that patrol 262 routes of the federal highways, with a total of 250 fully equipped pick-up trucks that carry all means of necessary tools, advanced radio communication systems and cell phones, in order to assist RVers in case of difficulties. Te Mexican ‘Green Angels’ corporation is part of the Tourism Ministry of Mexico, consisting of over 550 well trained officers and expert mechanics, all of whom have been helping motorists in the Mexican highways for more than 50 years. Te Green Angel’s services are free of charge, although most satisfied travelers will offer a small token/tip to show their appreciation. In regards to RV caravans, the Green Angels will frequently assist them with escort support when crossing the USA-MEXICO border, or when crossing, in convoy, large urban zones like: Mexico City, Guadalajara, or Monterrey.
