ikon has introduced a new flagship i-TTL Speedlight, the Nikon SB-910 that replaces the highly regarded SB-900. It offers enhanced on-camera or wireless operation with an extended zoom range of 17-200mm and three illumination patterns for total control over flash coverage, improved ergonomics and more intuitive control.
Centre-weighted, Even and Standard illumination patterns can cover a zoom range of 17-200mm while maintaining an even light distribution. Bounce flash can be tilted up to 90º, down to 7º and rotated horizontally through 180º to the right and to the left. The thermal protection system has been improved. Menus are clearer and the selector dial incorporates a groove so you can feel when you change settings. Illuminated buttons offer better visibility in the dark and the SB-910 includes hard cover (plastic) colour filters that are more durable and easier to attach.
Hard-type incandescent and fluorescent colour filters included, and the Speedlight automatically adjusts the attached camera’s colour temperature settings according to the colour of the filter being used. Perfect Photo Suite 6 now work as standalone applications in ad- dition to working directly from within Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Apple Aperture and Adobe Photoshop. With this new version of the Perfect Photo Suite 6, photographers can now move between individual applications within the Suite, not limited working as a plug-in for Photoshop but also as a standalone application. The Suite can be used directly within Lightroom and Aperture without the need for a separate host application as was previously required. Perfect Photo Suite 6 will continue to include full support for Photoshop CS5 and CS4 with many of the products now functioning as Smart Filters. Perfect Effects 3 builds on the popularity of PhotoTools with complete library of live previewable effects and now includes blend- ing options. Perfect Portrait 1 is a completely new product that offers the latest innovations in portrait retouching for photographers. It auto- matically finds faces and features in images, improving skin texture and colour, removing blemishes and enhancing features like eyes, lips and teeth.
