An Industry Leader: Hope Frank of Webtrends


ope Frank joined Webtrends, the global leader in mobile and social

analytics, as chief marketing officer in 2010 after more than decade of focus on transforming

companies into global

thought leaders. As Webtrends entered into an era of change, Hope implemented a new marketing vision for Webtrends and now spearheads worldwide marketing programming, a key factor in the recent brand momentum of the company. From a brand perspective, Hope has

led the marketing launch of two key new products this year: Webtrends Social and Analytics 10, and has created an increase in awareness and credibility within the in- dustry leading to key awards, including the 2011 IMA, AlwaysOn Global 250 rec- ognition and the NorthFace ScoreBoard Award. On the financial side, in FY11, total bookings for Webtrends increased 14 percent over FY10, with 4Q11 showing the highest year-over-year growth for any quarter in the company’s history. The company’s service offerings increased more than 140 percent and 375 customers have been added to the roster. Hope Frank has an established a Sili-

con Valley career in technology-related marketing, with a strong background in all facets including brand, enterprise, dig- ital, social, mobile and more. Hope brings a welcomed global perspective to Webt- rends as well as the industry, ingrained from her many years working in Japan, Brazil, Asia Pacific, UAE and EMEA. She was a founding partner of the award-winning strategic marketing and brand firm, Frank Harrison Perez (FHP), and worked with such brands as Yahoo, Apple, Google, Visa and Bank of Ameri- ca. At FHP she established global brand standards for NIKE & Levi Strauss, launched the Starbucks Wi-Fi network and delivered digital programs for a myri- ad of enterprise and financial clients.

Hope led marketing for THX, founded by George Lucas, and also served as chief marketing officer for Vivitar Corporation, SBC and Olevia HDTV. At Olevia, she di- rected digital, broadcast and creative, in- cluding a multi-year $20M global market- ing campaign for Olevia HDTVs with partners ESPN and X Games. Hope’s extensive experience and full

life cycle knowledge in B2C marketing has set her apart from her peers in B2B enterprise and given her the title ‘industry leader.’ Hope led an emerging market mo- bile data services IPO in 2010 prior to joining Webtrends and was named a re- cipient of the VIVMagnificent Woman Award just last month, designed to recog- nize

well deserving and inspirational

women from around the world, who are leading companies and impacting their communities.

As part of her goal to augment camara- derie amongst her peers, Hope is a found-


ing member of the “The CMO Club,” member of CMO Council, Argyle, the es- teemed M50, as well as an advocate for ‘Women in Technology’ in APAC and emerging markets. She often speaks at digital events, just last month at CMO Club events in Los Angeles, San Francis- co and Chicago, as well as Pivot 2011 in New York with Evan Greene, CMO The Recording Academy (The GRAMMYs). Personally, Hope has focused her ef- forts on causes close to her heart: educa- tion and environmental causes. In educa- tion, Hope supports The New Leader Scholarship and is an ardent advocate of Semester at Sea, as well as a scholarship alumni. As an avid sailor, surfer and wind- surfer, Hope has dedicated her time and resources to causes that incorporate sea life and shorelines: The Marine Mammal Center, and Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association, which improve launch sites throughout the Columbia River Gorge.
