he 14th Annual U.S. Business Lead- ership Network (USBLN) Confer-

government,

ence & Expo held in Louisville, Kentucky last week was a resounding success. At- tendance was strong, with nearly 400 cor- porate,

disability-owned

businesses and BLN affiliates attending the conference, held October 16–19 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown hotel. At the conference, USBLN presented its 2011 Annual Leadership Awards, recog- nizing leaders in seven categories: Partner of the Year, Affiliate of the Year, Lead Employer of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Supplier Diversity Corporation of the Year, Employee Resource Group (ERG) of the Year, and Market Share Cor- poration of the Year. Another conference highlight was when attendees, speakers, and USBLN members and staff joined members of the Kentucky AmeriCorps and the Kentucky Commission on Com- munity Volunteerism and Service on the “assembly line,” filling 30 boxes with ba- sic kitchen supplies for formerly home- less veterans who were moving into homes of their own. Next year the US- BLN plans to have an even larger service project during the 2012 Annual Confer- ence.
