Lymington and the New Forest. It was opened in February by Simon and Heather who have both worked in the wine trade for many years. Their aim is to bring back to the town a specialist wine shop that offers friendly

As well as the tutored
shop tastings the Solent
Cellar has also teamed up with some local restaurants such as Verveine, Stanwell House and Graze to put on some fantastic dinners

the emphasis is on food and wine matching. Sim o n commented , “These
events
are really fun, they give us the chance to build up a rapport with our customers and to really get to know their tastes. We can then tailor our recommendations much more accurately.”
The shop also provides a number of other services such as free glass loan, free local delivery, sale or return on party or wedding orders and a
bespoke gifting and mail order service, in addition to their great range of wines, spirits, local ales and Havana cigars. Both Simon and Heather agree that although challenging, the last eight months have been the most fun and exciting of their careers and it has been a real pleasure meeting all the new customers who visit the shop.
He athe r commented, “ We are really looking forward to our first Christmas
in Lymington. We
have brought in lots of new wines and one off parcels of Bordeaux and Burgundy as well as having some great gift ideas for Christmas. Do drop in on a Friday or Saturday when we always have a few bottles open for people to try.”
The Solent Cellar is open from 10am until 7pm, Monday to Saturday. A full list of wines and a calendar of events can be
