It was with great excitement that I walked into Lymington Fish Spa and Beauty for my first ever fish pedicure.
There is a sense of calm immediately you enter and the relaxed environment is echoed in the tasteful décor. With recent negative press coverage of Fish Spas I was reassured by the fact that (at the time of writing)

Rufa fish. They are fascinating to watch; busy little creatures who are rarely still. I felt very relaxed at the idea of putting my feet in with them.
Before you are allowed to start, you need to complete a short form and have your feet washed, which is rather lovely. You then don a disposable pair of slippers for the walk across to a fish tank.
The effect of putting my feet in the tank was amazing! These fish are not shy and instantly settle on your feet and ankles. The sensation is extremely pleasant, rather like feeling
bubb les breaking over your feet. They are
very gentle as
they carefully remove the dead skin, coming and going and swapping position with each other.
It’s absolutely fascinating to watch them and sit back and relax, whilst chatting to the staff who are so enthusiastic and knowledgeable .
Garra Rufa translates as Turkish Nibble Fish and although a new idea in this country it is one that has been enjoyed abroad for
many years. And it is not just your feet that they are content to nibble but your hands too!

The Fish Spa is more than just fish! You can also have a variety of manicures and pedicures and an array of nail treatments, including Minx (funky foils that last for weeks!); Twinkle Toes (a sparkly/glowing nail gel) for fingers and toes; Gelitz by The Edge (A solvent free soak off Gel, applied like nail polish and kind to the natural nail and which only requires 2 thin coats). They have a wide range of colourful polishes (including French Polish), Aromatherapy, Reflexology and a wide range of massages. Also available are waxing for women & men (hair removal), eyebrow & lash tinting and much more.
Well that was it ‐ time up. I loved it! Feet out of the tank and time to have them moisturised. A truly lovely way to
spend shall be back!
