MELISSA MOYLAN
BOHEMIAN EXPEDITION
Keeping the 70’s spirit in mind, bo- hemian becomes a key direction, car- ried out in various forms from traditional hippie to peasant folk and newer hybrids. Here we see bohemia
take a desert expedition through a sun-kissed land with sand tones and bleached pink and turquoise accents. There is a strong tie to nature, which becomes apparent through natural materials like crinkle linen and suede. Chiffon keeps the boho-feel alive and patterns like leopard and snake add a primitive edge. Items like flowing gypsy skirts or maxi dresses read clas- sic boho, while openwork and mesh knitwear feel more raw. Fringe com- pletes the expression as the leading detail, while lace-up construction and slits are also noted.
Clockwise from top left: sand- coloured dress and jacket by Mas- simo Rebecchi; handkerchief top and button skirt by Massimo Rebec- chi; snakeskin tunic and pink trousers by Emilio Pucci; tassel and print dress by Massimo Rebecchi; tassel top and trousers by Roberto Cavalli; sheer embellished dress by Roberto Cavalli.
