CLOSING HOLE
“St. George’s still does what it has been
doing for decades, striving to be the best in the world in all aspects of the Club.”
From one year to the next IT’S EXCITING TO BE A SMALL PART OF THE VISION THAT IS ST. GEORGE’S I
t’s hard to believe the year is coming to a close. It seems like only a few months ago that I was applying for the Head Professional po-
sition. How time flies. It has certainly been a whirlwind adventure as
I have come to be reacquainted with St. George’s, while getting to know so many wonderful people who are passionate about the game of golf and this club. I must say thank-you to all the members and staff for warmly welcoming Stephanie and me back and supporting us through this transition. We really haven’t stopped since our move from Tornhill and we are looking forward to a little breather come the off-season. While you can always wish you had more time
to play golf, my time on the course this past sum- mer opened my eyes once again to Stanley Tompson’s genius – a world-class layout – better than I remember! Te intimate clubhouse with its warm and welcoming atmosphere is a wonderful refuge with a terrific team working behind the scenes and the golf services area still has its charm. Te question I’m frequently asked by members
is, “What changed over the 10 years I was away?” My response is, “Tere are a few new faces and some familiar faces I don’t see any more, but all in all St. George’s still does what it has been doing for decades, striving to be the best in the world in all aspects of the Club.” It is exciting to be a small part of that vision. Over the coming months we will have time to reflect on 2011, reorganize, introduce new service initiatives and programs and move St.
George’s up another notch. Your support has been outstanding. Te culture of the club exudes pride and excellence in the industry. In 2012 we will be building on the success of
the Learning Centre. We will introduce new soſt- ware, add training aids, retain our “Pro at the Range” and develop better short game exercises. We will also evaluate our service levels. We have several areas that need attention and we are creat- ing new ideas in order for the experience at the club to be more enjoyable for you and your guests. Te junior program will always be a priority and we look at expanding on the camps and clinics currently offered. Te golf calendar is constantly a priority. We
want to ensure that our programs and tourna- ments are well attended and supported while

keeping a close eye on access to the tee for both members and member/guest groups. Being one of the top golf clubs in the world, there is a huge de- mand to play St. George’s and it is something we want to keep within reason so our members have access to the tee. As the golf course is put to bed we hope to see
you throughout the holiday season. Te Golf Shop at St. George’s will be open until December 22nd to help with your holiday giſt giving. We have brought in several lines for the occasion and have other great giſt ideas for your loved ones. We’ll even giſt-wrap it for you! Tanks for a memorable 2011 and we’re ex-
cited for 2012! – HEAD PROFESSIONAL, TIM MOORE
