an oil embargo imposed by Great Britain against Iran, but I can’t find any reference to prove that it drove up crude oil prices. Gold prices seemed to be stable during that entire period.
September 1980 – November 1982. The US sank into a painful 16-month recession in 1981. Bankruptcies climbed and interest rates rose. President Ronald Reagan deemed the government too large at the time, and recommended that taxes be cut.
November 2009 – October 2012. This is obvious. We are living the gold sky rocketing bubble. Nobody knows where it will end. The recession is obvious too. Main Street USA is half vacant with store fronts boarded up, houses sitting vacant, owned by banks and being allowed to rot down, families living in their cars and shelters. We can only hope that Saturn’s exit from Libra next year will be the light at the end of the tunnel rather than just another freight train.
Be reminded that Saturn in Libra crosses the MC of the United States natal chart (Saggitarius rising) and then produces the Saturn return in the tenth house of public persona. With each of these 29 year cycles the United States must look at its role as world leader. If we fail or fall short due to cheating or taking short cuts, we face the same destiny as Nixon faced when he was elected to the presidency with Saturn crossing his midheaven. He resigned from office due to the Watergate scandal when Saturn made its final pass over the midheaven.
This economic crisis, however, effects the entire world, not just our nation. It does bring our chickens home to roost
that the world bought securities generated by United States lending institutions. We may be caught in the trap of suc- ceeding through cheating and shortcuts to greatness that Saturn will never allow to go unpunished. Those who work and earn the reward are well treated by Saturn transiting the midheaven. Those who don’t take a great fall.
Although I don’t think that I proved my theory, it did make for some interesting research. I would invite all of you astrologers to take a closer look at Saturn and its role in the world economy. If you are not an astrologer, I invite you to learn astrology. It’s a fascinating science.

The only two motivations for ANYTHING are fear and love. I know it sounds odd, but if they make you crazy inside you are acting out of fear. Are you scared to appear weak & get taken advantage of? Scared of losing a confrontation? You know EXACTLY what you don’t want (=fear). Define it. Just giving it a name in bright sunlight will help diminish it.
Define Your Source
God. Divine or Infinite Intelligence. The Universe. The Great I Am. This is where all your good comes from. The person you fear is NOT in control unless you turned away from source and gave in to the illusion of their strength. You have dominion of all and in the very least, yourself and your emotions. If your Idiot is NOT your source, oh ye of little faith, why would you fear? (I love saying “Oh, ye of little faith”-it just flows off the tongue…)
