impressive family that truly poured their hearts and souls into the testing and creation of this promising answer to a pain suffered by millions. For them, it was about working together on a daily basis and making a difference in not only their own lives and the lives of their children, but the endless lives they can improve with their product. Life Back Enterprises, Inc. is led by father and CEO, Bill Cavalieri, Sr. Oldest son, Bill Cavalieri, Jr. is President and in charge of sales, while younger brother Robert Cavalieri is the Director of Production and Quality Control. Daughter Michelle Smith’s talents involve the finance and numbers side of the business as CFO, and younger sister Liz Howard focuses her creative gift as Director of Marketing. Each family member has a specific area of expertise; however, they take great pride in cross-training positions and pitching in wherever is needed. A typical day in the office includes each member of the family, and may also find Judy Cavalieri, the family matriarch, coming in and out as needed, providing the “glue” that keeps the family unit grounded. And after 4 p.m. when school is out you will also see the grandkids have their place, too – coming in and getting their “work” done and literally learning the business from a very early age. When I asked them what drives them on a daily basis the answer was all about their ability to help as many people as possible to find relief from an aching back that may have been affecting their lives for years.
“The design of the belt was all about finding the solution to the existing design of the back belts on the market that everyone purchases out of desperation, even though the research has proven the typical elastic design is completely ineffective,”
shared Bill Cavalieri, Jr. When Life Back Enterprises was formed Bill Cavalieri, Sr. wanted something more for his family than “just a place to work.” With a “family first” attitude it was about forming a company where they each could contribute with their specific talents, and also have the pleasure of enjoying what they do and knowing they are making a difference in someone else’s life. Having felt the stresses as a Vice President for a large corporation, Bill takes great pleasure in knowing his children are all involved and in control of their own destiny. The total staff of 15 includes a careful selection process as the trust in the individual and the work relationship must be unyielding. Their staff is essentially considered an extension of the family. The environment is all about the synergy of each family member creating the “whole.” Are there sometimes disagreements or annoyances? Sure. But at the end of the day when they each walk out the door they are left behind. In fact, Momma Cavalieri makes sure the family comes home every Sunday evening to share a fabulous dinner together.
Numbers don’t lie and it is apparent that when this family decided to come together to share their professional lives it was meant to be. The business is thriving and sales have increased 100% year over year from 2007 – 2010, an impressive accomplishment in a struggling economic environment. When you decide to build a business on Success Drive you better be able to live up to the address. Something tells me they couldn’t have a selected a more perfect location.
