Being an apprentice is the way to get hired

Leaving school at 16 or 18 doesn’t mean you are destined for a dead-end job. The City and Guilds Vocational Rich List of “Skillionaires”, who made their money after obtaining vocational qualifications, proves you don’t need a degree to be a success. Top hairdresser John Frieda and Formula One team boss Ross Brawn began their careers as apprentices. Star chefs Jamie Oliver, Delia Smith, Gary Rhodes and Rick Stein all began their careers having completed vocational catering qualifications. So if you are put off by the cost of going to

university or your exam results didn’t turn out as well as you expected, take a look at an apprenticeship with KEY Training Services and see what you could do. Established for 30 years, KEY Training Services has

become the leading work-based training provider in Kent. Working with over 300 employers, it has helped more than 25,000 people realise their career ambitions. Current Apprenticeships available through KEY Training Services include:

 Business Administration  Childcare  Customer Service  Hospitality and Catering  Retail  Teaching Assistant  Warehousing

Competition for training positions such as

apprenticeships is fierce so don’t delay. Combining work-based training with learning, they are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience while earning a salary. There are two levels of apprenticeship run by KEY

Training Services - apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship - where you work towards either a Level 2 or a Level 3 qualification. Training time can take up to two years. So if you are looking to earn while you learn, get in

touch and find out what opportunities are available to you. To find out more about the type of apprenticeships available in your area or to speak to one of our friendly and approachable team about your options, call freephone 0800 731 4297 or email keytrainingservices@kent.gov.uk. You can also find out more from our new website www.keytrainingservices.org.uk
