Town Profile Lenham

Situated halfway between Maidstone and Ashford off the A20, you would struggle to get more geographically mid Kent than the market village of Lenham.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book,

Lenham market dates back to 1088, when the village was an important crossroad settlement. Technically, the fact that Lenham is allowed a market makes it a town, but it is always considered a village, albeit a bustling one.

What to see The picturesque square is the very

hub of Lenham. It is in a conservation area and contains many listed buildings including, perhaps surprisingly, a red Giles Gilbert Scott telephone box in front of the library.
