hotevents Living the life of luxury

The life of a journalist really is tough sometimes. Case in point having to cover luxury lifestyle garden party Concours D’Elegance held in the grounds of the exclusive private members club, The Hurlingham Club. Join me in a chorus of “It’s a Hard Knock Life” won’t you please!

Ok before I lose our readers to sarcasm, here’s the scoop. Concours D’Elegance is the epitome of extravagance showcasing the finest yachts, speedboats, private jets, supercars and vintage cars on the market. It also boasts a designer shopping village, which held court to gems like Catherine Best Jewellery and Bremont Watches. And when all the finery gets a little too much, there’s space to recoup with a complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot and a gourmet lobster BBQ.

Here though is the real draw, guests could experience the fast life for themselves with a cruise along the Thames in a Linley Swan Powerboat (why do flashes of Jigga’s ‘Big Pimpin’ video come to mind??) and the chance to fly high with a helicopter ride. Concours’ piece d’resistance, actually make that two were; the Hermes Eurocopter and the diamond encrusted Ferrari Opus book – sadly we didn’t get a glimpse of this, probably a good thing though as worth £250,000, paying off the mortgage did spring to mind. If you had a few bills to spare you could actual walk away with a hot ride. Like the proud new owner of a black Zonda. I even hear someone purchased a eurocopter, now that’s some serious retail therapy!

Brands like Porsche, Aston Martin, Tesla, Sunseeker and Rizon Jet lined the lawns. And as we sipped champagne and walked

the expansive grounds humming Gwen Stefani’s “Luxurious” it was hard not to get caught up in it. Visions of yachting in St. Tropez, dripping in the finest jewels, a supercar for every day of the week, Diddy on speed dial, signing deals with Richard Branson…..come on, indulge me please.

Catching my eye and dragging me back to reality was London Motor Museum’s Lincoln Zephyr. A sleek, elegant all cream vintage car that wouldn’t be out of place in a 30s Katherine Hepburn reel

Catching my eye and dragging me back to reality was London Motor Museum’s Lincoln Zephyr. A sleek, elegant all cream vintage car that wouldn’t be out of place in a 30s Katherine Hepburn reel. Museum owner Elo had a twist in store for us though as he talked us through his collection of cars. Being close friends with the MTV

“Pimp My Ride” crew it seems he’s a fan of pimping out rides too. The Zephyr while truly vintage on the outside was bang up to date on the inside with a tricked out engine, iPod dock and all kinds of gizmos. Check out the exclusive interview with museum owner and Gumball enthusiast Elo in our video.

Now an event like this, you know there has to be a party right. On the evening of the final day, Hurlingham Club played host to societies elite with the cast of ‘Made In Chelsea’, Apprentice’s Nick Hewer and Emma Noble. It was left to DJ Seb Fontaine to bring the house down on the three-day festival.

Concours oozes style, elegance and opulence that attests to its 20-year heritage. Johnny Dodge, CEO of event partner GP Management has done founder Louis Vuitton proud.

So ballers listen up. If you aspire to being the next Sir Alan or living the Jay Z lifestyle then Concours definitely needs to be on your radar!
