Bath Tourism Plus (BTP) has appointed
experienced tourism professional David Jackson as head of marketing, where he will manage the
destination marketing team and lead on all activity to promote Bath to the UK and key overseas markets. David brings a wealth of marketing experience having previously worked for the North West Regional Development Agency and Lincolnshire Tourism. His experience will be
especially valuable in developing Bath’s official tourism website
www.visitbath.co.uk, overseeing PR for the destination as well as managing marketing communications, travel trade, overseas marketing and conference activity.
Stone King partner to chair Charity Law Association

Ann Phillips, a partner in the charity team at Bath- based law firm Stone King, has been elected chairman of the influential Charity Law Association (CLA). Ann is a former deputy chairman of the CLA which currently has more than 900 members including many of the
country’s largest charities and leading charity lawyers. “It’s a great honour to be elected chairman of the association at what is a critical time for the charity sector,” said Ann. “I look forward to working with all those involved with the association for the benefit of the sector.”
Entrepreneur joins Ontrac board

Ontrac Agency has appointed events and marketing entrepreneur Alison McDougall onto its board of directors.
The appointment forms part of the agency’s ongoing development, including its strategic decision to move further into investing in the private sector and recent partnership deal with Alpha.

Alison previously owned and sold TigerRed, an agency providing event management and below- the-line marketing. She currently owns Relevant Risk, a consultancy that provides risk management advice specifically for those that work within the event management industry. Relevant Risk will continue to
operate alongside Ontrac as part of its comprehensive events offer. Alison said: “I knew I wanted to work with an agency that had the same core vision as me, namely wanting to stand out in the market place and brimming with creative plans for the future - both for the business as a whole and for its employees.”

New GM for top South West hotel

Colin Badcock has been appointed general manager at one of the region’s top hotels, DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury, North Somerset.
Having worked across the hotel sector for over 20 years, Colin brings considerable corporate experience to the role, in which he will take control of the day-to-day running of the four-star hotel and house. A member of the Cotswold & Forest of Dean tourist board, Colin recently joined Gloucester’s Marketing board and is looking forward to developing similar links with the business and tourist sectors in Bristol, North Somerset and across the South West.

Legal firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV) has announced the appointment of two new partners – Ed Husband (pictured left) in the commercial litigation team and head of the firm’s restructuring and recovery practice in Bristol, and David Hansom (right) as head of the firm’s public sector practice.
Ed is well respected in the market for his commercial litigation practice and
restructuring and recovery work. He was formerly a partner in Bevan Brittan’s commercial dispute resolution department based in Bristol and headed the firm’s corporate recovery team.
David Hansom, a public procurement specialist with extensive experience advising central and local government departments, public authorities, utilities and private sector contractors, joins VWV after five years at Eversheds LLP, based in London.
David has a strong track record of guiding private and public bodies through the complex procurement landscape and has considerable experience of bringing and defending procurement challenges,and will be based mainly in the firm’s London office.
