The visiting MEPs sit on the European Parliament’s Committee of Regional Development and were especially interested in how Outset Bristol gives people from all backgrounds the chance to be a part of Bristol’s economic success.
They were also able to take part in a workshop with clients, before continuing discussions during a networking lunch.

CircleBath up for the challenge
A team from local hospital CircleBath took part in the ultimate test of physical and mental endurance during a four-day event on Exmoor recently.
Jon Luck, Rob Botwright, Sam Fielding, Karl Davies and Mark Aichroth from CircleBath along with David Hewins from construction company Vinci PLC, which built the hospital, competed in the Intelligent Sport UK Challenge in support of the NSPCC.
‘By the end of the final we were 57th which is quite an achievement’
The CircleBath team
The team, captained by CircleBath’s clinical chairman Jonathan Boulton, finished in 57th place in the event which pits some of the UK’s largest and most successful companies against each other in a competition testing physical endurance, mental ability, strategy and teamwork. “This is one of the toughest events of its type, and at one point we were 39th out of 79 teams,” said Jonathan. “By the end of the final we were 57th which is quite an achievement considering the top teams feature professional athletes and are given time off work to train.” CircleBath also supported the event by providing physiotherapy and a sports medicine service. Over the course of the four-day challenge, its medical team treated more than 100 individuals for a range of physical injuries.
