Welcome to NETCOMMS europe! Hello everybody,
The sun is in the sky and it’s time for IT managers to emerge blinking from their comms rooms and embrace the summer air. But when you’re jetting off to the Med, don’t forget to pack your copy of NETCOMMS europe, for some poolside reading.
This issue, we’re taking a closer look at fibre optic technology. Next Generation speeds are now with us, and fibre experts have been working hard to perfect the technology to support the high speed networks which customers now demand. Turn to page 12 to read the results of some very interesting research which has the potential to change the way we think about high speed fibre optics.
We’re also turning the spotlight on Intelligent Infrastructure Management. We asked our experts to give us an assessment of this technology, to help understand its real value within the modern network infrastructure. They didn’t disappoint, and have provided us with some extremely informative guides.
We’ve also crammed in articles about cable management, software, and the migration to IPv6. And if that wasn’t enough, we have our usual array of case studies, exploring network infrastructure technology in various applications across Europe.
As I’m sure you’re aware, the inaugural COMMS EXPO took place in June. The show brought together industry players from across Europe, and provided a veritable feast of knowledge and expertise to visitors. If you didn’t make it to the show, turn to pages 28 and 29 to find out what you missed.
